I was looking for an album cover for Wednesday Songs and came across a Gus Dirks illustration that was posted on twitter by the Barnacle Press.   I absolutely loved it and since it is in the public domain  I have been using it on my site.    Gus Dirks was the brother of Rudolph Dirks who did the Katzenjammer Kids.   I am sharing some of his works that I have discovered on the web.   Also I will post a link to the Barnacle Press Twitter page, it has all these amazing cartoons from the early 1900s.
